strange handling of Maya stills / animations

When rendering Maya single images, the default maya.sg is set to use as much cores/cpus as available. A machine with 8 cores uses all of them to render one single image.
When rendering a Maya animation, instead of rendering the first frame with all available cores in one task, 8 tasks are created which try to use 8 cores each but fail to do so because 7 other tasks are running at the same time.
Rendering 8 tasks with 64 threads instead of one task with 8 threads at the same time will be much slower because of process/thread management of the operating system.

This happens when 'Maximum number of cpus on one computer' is set to 'Maximum' (-1) while using a multithreaded renderer like Maya. Setting it to '1' fixes the problem.
