You could use the freebsd get_loadavg function for macosx

I think you mean the following line: https://ssl.drqueue.org/project/browser/branches/0.64.x/libdrqueue/computer_status.c#L163

A portable POSIX function would be nice if existing. That way we could handle all supported operating systems with one function.

According to http://linux.die.net/man/3/getloadavg getloadavg() is not in POSIX but at least working on Linux, *BSD and Solaris. According to http://www.gnu.org/software/hello/manual/gnulib/getloadavg.html it's not available on AIX 5.1, HP-UX 11, IRIX 6.5, Cygwin, mingw.

Changeset 3019 should fix this bug. Now, the same stuff is used for OSX and FREEBSD.
Please test it. It worked for me under OSX 10.5 .
